Birthday gift

My son is invited the 3 years old boy's birthday party next Saturday.
So I made this set of drawstring bags for the boy.

His mother told me that he was going to go pre-school soon.
I thought drawstirng bags would be great and useful when he goes to school.

I picked brown stripe fabric for liner.

This bag also works as a shoulder bag.

This is small shell pouch to match the big drawstring bag.

The main blue fabric is from Japan. There are so many cute fabric for children in Japan!!
I hope he likes them. :)

Happy Birthday!!

New Bag

I have been thinking to make my new bag  for everyday use.
Finally I made it!!
The pattern is from my local quit shop.  The original  is piecing 6 different pattern(patchwork) to make the outer design.
I have a lot lot of fabrics, however I could not find the best combination for my bag. That is the mystery. :P
Instead of the patchwork, I just used only this fabric.

Yuwa from Japan
Here is the fabric. What a beautiful it is!!
I purchased this beautiful blue flower fabric from YUWA in Japan last spring.
I think this is the best fabric to make a bag.

It contained 55% linen and 45% cotton.  This is thicker than the cotton fabric for quilt, but less  than home deco fabric.
I think half linen fabric is strong and suitable to make a large bag.
Plus the reason why I love this fabric is the texture.
I have never seen these rustic texture + soft touch fabric in US. Why?

This is the buttom.
I attached fleece batting for exterior fabric and also added firm stabilizer( pellon Peltex 71F) to the button.

One pocket. Liner fabric is pre-quilted beige color fabric from Joann.

It looks perfect!

BUT!!  I only did one mistake.......

Can you see the hole top of the magnet button?
Yes,,,,,  I did mistake the position....
Attaching the button is the very last part of process.  I should not have rushed to finish it.

Anyways, I  love my new bag, so I try to think the positive way! :)

Here is the another one!

card case
Today I made the card case from left over.
Isn't it cute?

Not perfect, but it is ok for me.

Oh! That is my friend business card. Now I can keep it in safe. :)

Thank you for visiting.

cup cakes

I just wanted to share some of sweets today. I discovered a new cup cake shop in my local area. :)

Look this froasting!!
I am not big fan of butter froasting, because it is too sweet for me. But it looks cute. (like snow)

This one is whipping cream on the top. I love whipping cream. And this is not so sweet. Good for me. Acutually this cup cake tastes good!

Here is another sweet which I baked reacentlly.

New fabric coasters

Here are my new set of 4 coasters.
When I made the potholder for children, I thought it would be cute to be a coaster as much as the pot holder.

I am right!  I like how they turned out!  They looks yummy. :)

I added cotton lace on the center for the accent. If you  see the image closer, you can see 2 different laces.

The size is about 4.5" diameter.

Back side.

I also finished these log cabin coasters.

Home sweet Home

I named these coaster " Home sweet Home ".:)

Which coaster is your favorite?

These are avairable in my shop!

Hearts bunting

I have just added my new hearts bunitng in my shop.

Each flag is about 5" wide and 5" tall. Total is 9 flags. This bunting is little smaller than the others.
I choosed 3 different pattern to make the bunting. ( Hearts, argyle and red polka dots.)
Heart and argyle fabric are Ann Kelle design fabric.
Red polka dots is Japanese fabric. Very unique polka dots!
I think it would be cute to decorate the wall for the birthday party, valentine party...

If you hung the bunting on the baby crib, it looks like this image.

The size of bunting is same as this blue/white one.

Thank you for visiting!!

Last night, I finished to make this lunch bag. The tutorial is avairable on Pink Penguin's blog.
Her tutorial is very clear to easy to follow!

I should make one for myself. :)

All the fabrics that I used for this bag are from local Joann store.
I think pink and brown combination is really cute for the girl.

These set are the birthday present for 5 years old girl.

I was busy to make these gifts for birthday girls.. But now I completed everything.

Happy New Year!

ozouni
Happy New Year!
It is cold and raining here in central valley CA.
I visited my husband`s family yesterday and had dinner together.

Today I asked my husband to open his 6 boxes and clean them up.
In the past 6 years he had never opened these boxes.
These are old text books and note books which he used while going to college.

Yappie! 6 boxes now became only 2. Most of them are  junk. He will bring them to the university book store to sell or donate.

I also clean up my old clothes. Some of my favorite clothes are not fitting me anymore.  Because I gain weight after the pregnancy of my son... :(   I hoped I can wear these clothes someday again... But someday sounds it will never come.
I decided to say good bye to my old clothes. ( I brought them to Goodwill to donate)

After my son was born, there are a lot of stuff in this small apartment.
I really have to organize the stuff to keep neat and clean.

My 2011...
- live minimum
- keep neat and clean
- try hard not to buy too much fabrics. Also try to use my fabrics.
- weight control (no more gain!!)

How about your 2011?

:)
